Sarah Morgan is an incredibly successful criminal defense attorney; her husband Adam is a struggling writer. While Sarah's career continues to flourish, Adam's seems to be flatlining. Out at their lake house, Adam begins a passionate affair with the gorgeous, young Kelly Summers. When Kelly is found one morning stabbed to death in the Morgans' bed at their lake house, Adam quickly becomes the primary suspect. Now he needs the best defense attorney money can buy, but will Sarah be able to handle taking on her husband's case, defending him against the murder of his mistress?

This book started off strong, and finished even stronger. I was immediately hooked by the relationship between Sarah and Adam, including the drama that quickly ensued. While it was evident that they loved each other, it seemed that Sarah loved her work just a little bit more. Both of the main characters were clearly flawed, which was a major driving point in the story. The longer the story went on, the more I picked up on little bread crumbs here and there, although honestly I didn't really figure out the big reveal until approximately one chapter before it was revealed. I had suspicions about some of the people/things that were problematic throughout the story, but I didn't actually figure out all of the pieces, which I enjoyed. I could not stop reading this book.

Overall, this book was a very quick read (listen) for me, and it kept me hooked from start to finish. I am absolutely going to check out other books by this author. Hands-down a 5 star read.
