iZombie, Vol. 3: Six Feet Under & Rising by Chris Roberson

4.0

It's starting to get good. The first one of these introduced the concept (which is awesome), and the second had to do a lot of the heavy expository lifting - here things are starting to gel.

I really dug all of the new characters and subplots.
SpoilerParticularly the maybe-gay ken-doll brother dude (we definitely don't know what he's up to in any way shape or form yet) and the Dead Presidents (are they really those figures, or are the distinctions code names?). I even warmed to the vampires and the Bride of Frankenstein characters, all of whom I'd been kind of sick of in the second one. And a skee ball subplot? Love.
I'm really jiving on the blend of hipster quirk/straight drama blend (as IGN points out). Even the color work feels tongue-in-cheek.

I'm so excited to see both of the Allreds at the Olympia Comics Festival tomorrow. And so freaking glad I finished this before I did!
