Girl On The Run
by Jane Costello
I would've easily given this a 3 or 4 star rating if not for the fact that this book is offensively long. 91 Chapters. Not even some of the science fiction novels that have so many facts to be presented are this long. If the author had reduced about 200 pages, this would have been a very cute chic-lit. But the author kept beating around the bush, stretching a story that had no potential. When things finally happen(that must have happened a good 40 chapters back) you breathe a huge sigh of relief. One thing that bothered me the most- Abby's best friend Jess slept with the man she wanted to set her up with. It was obvious from the beginning that it was Oliver. And she could have easily confessed this to Abby and saved her from doing the same mistake. Even after finding out(by being a victim yourself) that the guy your friend thinks she has feelings for is a womaniser, you don't do anything to stop her from falling for it. What kind of best friend does that? And the fact that the author made Abby be ok with it after writing so many chapters about her humiliation. -__- Bullshit. This was an otherwise inspiring(to an extent) story. A woman that runs her own business! And is determined to lead a healthy life by getting into a fitness regimen. Yeah i definitely had the urge to start running while reading it.
