A suspenseful mystery novel that kept me on my toes till the end. The novel was set against the backdrop of a sprawling mansion and a vast fortune at stake. Avery Grambs, an ordinary high-school teen, became a target overnight when she inherits a massive fortune from a mysterious billionaire. Together with the eccentric Hawthorne brothers, she works through a labyrinth of (slightly kiddish) clues to unveil the truth and discovers that there’s more to the inheritance than meets the eye. I loved that every character adds depth and intrigue to the story, each with their own motivations and hidden agendas. The novel explores deeper themes of family, loyalty, and the true meaning of wealth. While the riddles may come across as immature for adults and gets repetitive towards the end, I would still recommend this for anyone who is looking for an easy mystery read.
