The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
by Eckhart Tolle
DID NOT FINISH
I listened for almost an hour before DNFing. I was struggling with some internal pushback to some of the concepts. i.e. I like thinking! I don't want to go around all day not thinking. I like practicing mindfulness but not all day!
What ultimately made me stop was the narrator. I generally dislike books where the author narrates. They rarely equal the quality of a professional. I found the rhythm of this author's speech and his more monotone voice hard to understand and pay attention to.
In a few years, when I have more time to sit down and read, I might give this one another try. I feel like there's still lots of good stuff to glean. For now, I'll have to look into other mindfulness books.
