Burned Dreams by Neva Altaj
5.0
I have liked or loved each book of the stories within Altaj’s “Perfectly Imperfect” series so far & no difference here with Alessandro (Az) and Ravenna’s (Ravi) story!!
This one was more of a slow burn than some of the others in the series but I really loved the dynamic between Az and Ravi. The turmoil that Az goes through when your heart and your head are at war with each other was portrayed very well!
While I found myself yelling at Alessandro for his constant back & forth, my heart also went out to him. He has spent the past eight years with one singular focus - revenge for his late wife. But suddenly when he’s closer than ever to achieving that, he’s thrown through a loop by Ravi. She completely takes him by surprise, slowly turning his mind & heart down a new path, and he doesn’t know how to deal with that.
As for Ravi - I loved her! She was strong and kind, and I love her little humor that would come out around Az when she felt safe. She saw herself as weak because of how her asshole of a husband treated (abused) her. But like Az said, she was forced to fight without weapons and still was stronger than her opponent.
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone but if you like mafia series that are more character driven than mafia driven, and have couples with insta-connections, I HIGHLY recommend this series!!!
✨please check TW at the beginning of the book✨
