Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules by David Sedaris

2.0

When my mother-in-law loaned me this book, I was ecstatic. Short stories handpicked by the one of my favorite authors, how could this be anything other than genius? And some of the stories were beautiful and witty and sad, a perfect match for Sedaris. But others were really bland and uninteresting. I skipped past a good number after only read the first couple of paragraphs.

It wasn't my favorite Sedaris or my favorite short story collection, but there are a few gems in here to look forward to.
