As a fat person reading this book, it's cathartic as fuck. It's also full of despair, sadness, and rage sometimes too and it feels so good to see enraged fat people being taken seriously. The Pill is amazing at describing what it's like to live in a fatphobic world, and actually, each short story tackles both externalized and internalized fatphobia in one of the smartest, rawest way I've ever read so far. It hurts to read, but it's, as I said, fucking cathartic to feel so understood and to see fatphobia being called out so efficiently.
