I listened to the audiobook for this one, and it was really good. I loved Elizabeth and Madeline. Six-Thirty was also adorable. The audiobook I listened to also had a cool interview with Bonnie Garmus at the end of the book and I found it so interesting to listen to.
There were many characters that I loved, and characters that I hated (mostly the men tbh). But I found Harriet and Fran such interesting characters. Harriet was so wonderful and caring and really helped Elizabeth as much as she helped Harriet. Fran was such an interesting take, she started out so misogynistic and in that time period, I guess that's just how it was. But I loved her growth and how badass she became when she realised her potential.
I think the writing of this book was so clever and I found the style interesting. I liked getting some insight on all the characters thoughts, including the dog, Six-Thirty. I also just loved everything Elizabeth stood for. She was so strong in everything that came her way, and she's a real encouragement to all women everywhere. It would've been so hard to be such an outspoken and strong women in that time period, with the constant misogyny, but she really pushed the boundaries and helped encourage all the other women in the story to step out.
This is just an important story and I think it shows (while there is still a gap between men and women now, and we've got a lot further to go) just how far we have come, and it's because people like Elizabeth stood up for themselves, to get us to a place like this today.
