This amazingly fast-paced short story by one of my favourite writers Madeline Miller is an amazing example of how little backstory and introduction is needed to tell an amazing, shocking story. I loved this story, and it was a great pass-time for my train ride. I was expecting this to be good and it definitely was. Miller’s writing is and remained sublime and every story she writes or rewrites is a great one.
