Jenny knows she isn’t normal. One night she goes with her friend Tiffany to a party and they pull out a Ouija board and things start to go downhill. Ever since that night, Jenny has been having weird dreams and seems to be having the same guy reoccurring in these dreams.
Jenny befriends Ben who has just moved into town. They don’t get off to the best start, but one day they go into the attic to sort through things and come across an old music box. They discover instruction for “memorization” and decide to try it out. They both share the same exact dream and are thrown into Romanov Russia in an earlier time. This guy, Nikolai that has been showing in Jenny’s dreams is now in real life. He tells her that he has traveled through time to find her.
Because he has traveled through time, this can upset the balance. The Order– who controls people who travel through space are after Nikolai and want to through him back to that time period. Well, they don’t want him to go back. They have a certain amount of time to get this done or The Order will take him… Can they get it done?
My Thoughts:
Okay, I can’t believe how LONG it took me to read this.. It took over a MONTH & A HALF to read it. It’s not that I didn’t like it, it’s because I would find other books that I wanted to read.. Just look at what books I’ve completed.. I was also contacted by a publisher to review a series, well that took about a week to do.
Anyways, I was CONSTANTLY reminded of the animated movie, Anastasia while reading this. I don’t know if it’s because I’m such a SUCKER for Disney/animated movies or.. I don’t know. When I heard Romanov.. I thought BAM! Anastasia!!! And I swear the guy in the movie is also named Nikolai.. I could be completely wrong… But I do remember the whole family is forced out of their mansion and is taken over. Well, that’s basically what happens in this book!
I REALLY enjoyed this book. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5/5 stars was that this is a STAND-ALONE! WHAT!? WHY?! I NEED to know what happens next! This CANNOT be a stand-alone! The ending has a cliff-hanger, but basically your just standing there waiting for nothing. Your standing their for all eternity… Just waiting… That’s it. Not resolution.. No nothing…
I just really liked this book. I’m considering buying it paperback so that I have a physical copy, but only time and money will tell.
