An extremely pleasant and engaging read, despite the various flaws I found. Starting from these defects, first of all are the characters. There wasn't one that I particularly appreciated or hated, I found them all (including the protagonists) very bland and poorly characterized. The strong point of the book, in my opinion, are the settings, the descriptions of the places and their particularities, the descriptions of daily life in this place in Japan which is totally different from the Japan "that we know" and that we are used to imagining. This reading catapulted me into another place and another time, it was almost magical, I would dare to say.
