The Road by Cormac McCarthy
4.0

I've listened to this via Audible while having this ugly paperback book. So I haven't really immersed myself in McCarthy run-on sentences. No quotation marks and I don't remember commas when I skimmed the book or read the book, maybe they have it. But despite that I really liked the book, where it's mostly just a father and boy trying to survive the post-apocalyptic world.

Mostly hiding, talking, whispering. There's some action but it's quickly resolved in just a couple of pages or maybe a few paragraphs.

Despite being McCarthy's well-known book people tends to rate it lower than his other works and only very few cite this as his best book. That could be said to most authors and his books like [a:Guy Gavriel Kay|60177|Guy Gavriel Kay|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1218804723p2/60177.jpg] and [b:Tigana|104089|Tigana|Guy Gavriel Kay|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1348738842l/104089._SX50_.jpg|1907200], which is still the only book I've still read from Kay.

People like his [b:Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West|394535|Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West|Cormac McCarthy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1701688704l/394535._SY75_.jpg|1065465], [b:Suttree|394469|Suttree|Cormac McCarthy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1397600192l/394469._SY75_.jpg|1196119], [b:All the Pretty Horses|469571|All the Pretty Horses (The Border Trilogy, #1)|Cormac McCarthy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1706386113l/469571._SY75_.jpg|1907621], and [b:The Crossing|365990|The Crossing (The Border Trilogy, #2)|Cormac McCarthy|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1686576935l/365990._SX50_.jpg|1930437] better. And I honestly can't wait to read more of his books.
