Annie on My Mind
by Nancy Garden
I cannot even begin to describe how much I recommend this book. I felt like I really understood what Liza was going through, because I've gone through the same process only as an older adult. It isn't easy coming to terms with yourself when you aren't even really aware that anything needs to be addressed. This book is a fantastic LGBTQ novel and one that I will continue to recommend to others. My only complaint about this novel was that Annie felt a little underdeveloped as a character.
"The important part is the wonder of the closeness and the unbearable ultimate realization that we are two people, not one - and also the wonder of that: that even though we are two people, we can be almost like one, and at the same time delight in each others uniqueness."
