In all my life as a reader, and I have read thousands of books, only 3 writers had the power to make me skip work day to read a book of theirs
I am happy to add Ms R.G. Angel to this VERY EXCLUSIVE BOOK CLUB
This Romance (and it is a romance more than a Mafia romance) insipred by Beauty and the Beast had me in a chock hold. I could not put the book down.
from the very first page to the ending, you are enamoured by the beautiful chemistry between Luca and Cassie - how the Beauty with her kindness and strenght tamed and revived the Beast.
we all have scars, some are out there, on your slin like an armor - a proof of your struggle. But some, the most vicious and destroying of all, are internal and they grow, fester
Cassie overlooked the Luca's physical scars and worked on his inner one to bring out the man that he is supposed to be. and this is what a strong character is able to do
i especially loved the subtle spice scenes here. you get like very minimum. it is not thrown haphazerdly, like other books do to sell as smut. it is there when it is needed.
but amongst these pages, a scene stood out to me
and here I should warn you that there may be spoilers
Cassie was a virgin, and in the midst of their hot foreplay, she tells Luca that and of course he freaks out and leaves.
this is not a new scenes, but usually the aftermath, the girls is heartbroken fealing the rejection and somehow guilts the male to grovel or apologize
but Cassie says to him when he tried to apologize the next day , although she was feeling a bit rejected, "you've done nothing wrong> We all have the right to change our minds"
and I love the lack of double standrads the author is presenting here. Men, like women, should have the choice to say No and to change their minds.
anyways, I loved loved loved this book
and after the shitty romance books I've read so far, I am happy to find a book that made my heart flutter
