hannahjsimpson 's review for:
Assassination Vacation
by Sarah Vowell
I picked this audiobook after reading Lafayette in the Somewhat United States last year and at the recommendation of a friend. Sarah Vowell goes on a death pilgrimage to the relevant sites of the first 3 assassinated presidents and their killers. The anecdotes Vowell weaves through the larger tale of presidential murder are charming and her personal geekiness (meant as highest praise) really made the time fly on this book. Her voice, however, did take some getting used to. But in the end, it lent itself to her overall character. I particularly appreciated the vocal cameos of Stephen King, Conan O'Brien and Jon Stewart. Enjoyable and exactly what I expected.
