Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole

5.0

My Thoughts:

It took me awhile to read this one. Mostly because I know the author gives us cliffhangers and the last two books broke my tiny fairy heart. Because let’s be honest here, she does it to hurt us. (*stomps around like a tiny dino and rages hand towards the author*) Yet we keep buying her books and killing our insides every time. I question myself why I do this but I have fully admitted that I need to know what happens next. If not, then I may bury myself. *laughs*

After readying it though…..I wish I could die! The ending?!! WHY?!! The feels were too much. I never throw a book but I threw her book at least four different times and laid there on the ground with a broken heart; with the ending she gave us! *cries* It’s just too much pain! Poor Dearth, poor Evie, poor Jack. And then BOOM!!! The end. You don’t know what’s next. Is he alive? Is he going to make it? Because I swear with that ending, there is no way he could have lived?! Yet, with everything within our hearts you want him to come back. However, you just set there with the book in your hands and tearing up because there is no why…..right? *Whispers* I hope he comes back……

Good Points:

Kersley Cole is a great writer because you want to murder her. And I feel like that’s a great author in my book. When I want to send a raging, broken hearted letter. But I don’t. Because they don’t need it. They know their evil ways. Lol. And knowing them, their setting in their chairs; rubbing their hands together and clacking away. ><

There are ups and downs. There is tears, there is anger, and most of all; there is the hope they really make it. All these kids wanna do is make it through this game without having to kill someone. Because in the end, their still human. And Mrs. Cole is very good at reminding us that. You’re in the game with them, you’re going through everything. Wishing and hoping something goes right for once. I feel like this is what makes a great book. When you’re so into it that you don’t realize that it’s all a story. They become real life heroes and villains. But then you have that one villain that POPS up. Like what.the.hell?!! Where did you come from?!

Not only that, but the storytelling is amazing. Her words, her voices, her scenery. Her everything. It’s so well written that sometimes when I look up, I forget that I’m not fighting bagmen; that I’m laying half on the ground and half on the couch.

Bad Points:

You die, over and over again. The feels are always high. It’s the 3nd book and you know it’s going to be hard on your hearts. You’re up and then you’re down. You have hope and then it gets brutally destroyed. There is a lot of high and lows in the 3nd book. And it was a little rushed but it’s that type of book that, it needs to be rushed because their fighting for their lives.
