The Lonely Hearts Book Club by Lucy Gilmore
4.0

I'll never turn down a book about getting a better attitude and not wasting life away being a grumpy old ass. Lol.

Grumpy old, literature-loving Arthur insists on making everyone as miserable as he is. Despite his best efforts to be left alone and his VERY undeserving personality, an unlikely crew of randos form a book club under his roof. Sometimes the people who act like they don't need love are the ones who need it the most.

The title was perfect for this book. I loved that each character's quality of life was "eh" until they met each other. Each person's life improves when they stop focusing solely on themselves and open their hearts to helping their buddies. There wasn't a peak in the book, in my very unprofessional opinion, but I enjoyed the ride nonetheless.

I liked this book. It was enjoyable and a quick page-turner. I'd give it a solid 3.5/5. I appreciated the perspective of each character. Everyone is going through something, you know?

Good choice for a book club book! Happy with it overall.
