Heaven Official's Blessing: Tian Guan Ci Fu (Novel) Vol. 8 by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu

5.0

the way i read 780,000 words in three days.

i dont feel nearly coherent enough to fully flesh out how i feel about this series but i will just say it is now near and dear to my heart and i consider it a favorite series and i'm happy to have been introduced to the world of danmei through it

even with my adoration i am well aware of its shortcomings and imperfections but i simply Do Not Care. (Hua Cheng? A Mary Sue??? you dont say. XL no real personality?? hmm)

i think what drew me most to this was how the love story was so epic and grand in scale yet also the inevitability of it, the problematic nature of it...idk i love it. very very aware that this relationship is not healthy in the slightest but that only makes it 11/10 imo. its because of that i'd love to see a subsequent story set a century into the future and how their relationship would look after being together for some time. but then again that's just the angst whore in me talking l o l

my biggest and main gripe with the story was genuinely the lack of San Lang/Hua Cheng backstory because while we got a fair chunk of it through the eyes of XL or other perspectives i would give anything to have had even ONE chapter from his POV.

anyways. hualian 5ever and i'm literally obsessed with how obsessed with each other they are. it gives me the same vibes as when I read twilight back in middle school and maybe that's why i'm willing to overlook literally everything that could be wrong with it. i simply do not care~
