The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity
by David Wengrow, David Graeber
informative
reflective
“What is the purpose of all this new knowledge if not to reshape our conceptions of who we are what we might yet become?”
school would’ve been a breeze if all textbooks were written like this. informative, repetitive only to the point of genuine understanding, and the right amount of humor. definitely not a light read and you have to be in the mood to scarf down such profound alternate views of history and to always question what we accept as the truth in academia. quite a few examples and theories were hard to grasp seeing as i’m not a specialist but they were compelling nonetheless!
