The Walking Dead, Vol. 5: The Best Defense by Robert Kirkman

3.0

Things go from bad to worse and the series as a whole feels like it's found a new not entirely comfortable direction. Turns out the zombies aren't the worse thing out there for our band of walking dead. There are so many 'oh my god' moments in this that it feels rather bombastic following the previous 4 instalments. Still, it does keep the pages turning and now I'm itching to find out how bad things are going to get. The art is starting to settle in a bit here now too which makes character recognition easier (plus they're hanging around a bit longer than earlier in the series). Worth reading though not for the faint of heart.
