Excellent (4.5) - the book covers many different aspects, groups of people, and areas over many adventures of the key characters over a period of many years - I learned a ton about the times, the peoples, the religions, and really got in to the characters - one of my favorites is Father Willibald, the little priest. :) It is hard to imagine men & oxen pulling tall ships over land to get to the next body of water to find the hidden gold treasure while battling a tribe of folks led by a former jester.
