I absolutely love the vibe of the book but Acker was lowkey giving me whiplash in the second half. One second I loved him and the next I really kind of didn’t… idk I was constantly doubting him and I think I could never really tell if his actions were genuine. Sometimes he just felt kind of icky to me and I hate that because I want to love him 😩

(also it rubs me so wrong that he slapped Brynn/Jovie in the end… I get it she just majorly betrayed him but I still reaaaallly hated that)

while I did not see the plot twist coming even though I expected nearly anything to happen (because everyone was talking about the plot twist so I expected the worst) I don’t think I liked it? So much stuff doesn’t make sense to me now and I kind of want to reread this immediately to see if I’m just imagining it or if it really doesn’t add up 

I don’t really know if I think this book is brilliant or I kind of hate it lmao 

I reaaaaally want to read the next book asap

Upon further reflection I’m now rating this 4 stars instead of 3,5 because I’ve come to the conclusion that I do think it’s brilliant and I loved it lmao (I‘m really hoping I get over my problem with Acker in the next book)
