this was perfect escapism and extremely easy to read but the whole time i couldn’t help thinking this reads like really really good fan fiction and it didn’t help that the “antagonist” was famous ish. it wasn’t bad at all, but the characters weren’t super fleshed out they’re sorta one dimensional. another thing, sally rooney uses political stance to add some sort of “character” or something to her character but in the end it all seems pretentious and performative especially since all of them are white. all in all though everything feels vivid but at the same time lacks description, and the writing style is very simple yet unique in a weird way?? i don’t know it’s interesting but extremely boring at the same time i think she just has a way to be extremely blunt and move the plot along without providing extra detail or anything
anyways i really enjoyed reading this because it was easy and i was stressed and it’s been a while since i’ve read anything of hers
