I did not enjoy this like I thought I would. i'm sorry to say I think the author lacked the skill to evoke the places she was mudlarking and so it just got to be pretty much the same story in each place. My mother would take us out searching for antique bottles and broken crockery in the woods and behind old farmhouses when i was a child in Connecticut and honestly it was magical to hike into the woods to do those excavations and to find things and clean them and think about them. I was hoping to get that from this book but I did not.
