This one is hard to review, as I actually think it was the format which stopped me enjoying it, more so than the story itself.
There are so many point of views, locations, and timelines that in audio I was completely lost. In print I would be able to flick back and check details. The narrator also used the same voice for everyone, and the tone/pace didn't change either. This added to the feeling of confusion.
I loved the setting and listening to the Icelandic names, and on paper this would definitely be the book for me. Unfortunately I just don't get on with it, and had to repeat listen to parts to understand what was going on. I think if I were to continue with the series I would try print instead. My rating reflects the atmosphere, and plot potential of this book, but for me it was a struggle. It is probably worthy of higher but not in this format.
