The Lies of Locke Lamora
by Scott Lynch
DNF at ~100 pages
I’m not sure if it was my headspace or the book itself, but I just couldn’t bring myself to care. The writing felt bloated, as if Lynch was stretching every sentence to sound more fantastical than necessary. While I can see why it has its fans, I found myself wading through dense prose without enough payoff. Maybe I’ll give it another shot someday, but with a towering backlog, I’m not willing to struggle this much right now.
