What I need you to know is that MY main character is Jamie, one thousand percent Jamie, always and forever Jamie.
I enjoyed this book but it took me so, so long to get through. I did enjoy the parallel storylines, the character development, and have I mentioned that I loved Jamie? At the same time, I think I would have enjoyed the character development with parallel storylines written in a different format (two parts? two books? I’m not sure), though this could totally be a “me” thing more than anything else (idk if I’ve read all that many books with a format like this, it could absolutely be a me thing).
I wrote down so many quotes, here are two that stood out to me (a few of my favorites have spoilers, so I’m leaving those out):
“Art is distortion, but a form of distortion that has the possibility of offering clarification, like a corrective lens.”
“One thing I’ve learned I that you don’t just love a person, you love a vision of your life with them. And then you have to mourn both.”
