The Assignment by Liza Wiemer
4.0

YES: although the voices sometimes felt a little inauthentic, this story of two teens (Logan and Cade) who protest an assignment given by their history teacher asking them to pretend to be Nazis and debate what to do with the Jewish population during the Holocaust. The lessons of standing up for your beliefs and fighting systemic racism and microagressions are important for today's teens, particularly in the current social climate. Author's note and list of resources make this a good resource for teens struggling with some of the same issues Logan, Cade, Heather, Daniel, and Mason face.
