This is a five-star read for me! All the characters were beautifully written, coming alive in the best ways in my mind as I flipped through the pages. The complexity of human relationships, womanhood and intergenerational ties in a diasporic family is explored tastefully in this novel.

Spanning across Sri Lanka, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and London, the author depicted the realities of a family who keeps defining and redefining what home can mean. The impacts of movement through time and space are explored intricately as the characters navigate lands to find space, and to take up space through community.

I enjoyed reading this from start to end, and this is one that will stay with me for a long time.
