Salt to the Sea
by Ruta Sepetys
Using four different points of view, this historical fiction set during WWll gives a look into the fear of refugees, the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff, and the odd plot line of art thefts. It took me a bit to be able to switch between POVS. I did enjoy the sentence structure - a lot of short, but beautifully crafted sentences - but felt that the ending was extremely rushed — two letters 24 years later were unsatisfactory in explaining the characters’ fates, especially when trying to weave in the mystery of the art theft.
