The Last Battle
by C.S. Lewis
I was somewhat hesitant to go back and read all of the Chronicles of Narnia as an adult, as I was afraid they would lose the magic they held for me as a child. I was also worried that the heavy religious undertones would bother me as an adult. For the most part, I enjoyed re-reading the books. No, they weren't as magical as they were when I was younger, but that was to be expected. Still, this last book bothered me. It is by far my least favorite of the seven. While religious undertones run through all of the books, they're more like slap-you-in-the-face overtones in the last installment. And I cannot stand the way Lewis ended it.
