I truly just don't have the capacity to fully explain what a work of art this book is. It encompasses so many emotions in such a short span of pages, but at its core Open Water is an achingly beautiful love letter to Black art. Caleb Azumah Nelson is just such a force and I truly cannot wait to see where he goes from this debut.
