An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States
by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
If you're expecting something like Howard Zinn's famous book, full of letters and personal accounts, look elsewhere. The full title of this book is An Indigenous Peoples' History... For Young People. I think it's meant to be used in a middle school or high school class about the history of indigenous people in the United States. It's a thorough run down of the major injustices against native peoples, but does not include first-person stories.
I liked the critical thinking questions and learned a few things I didn't already know, BUT, it was a dry read. I'd recommend Rez Life instead. It's a better mix of history + personal stories: https://amzn.to/2E2LvcY
