The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante
5.0

I loved this book and found it much more engrossing than the first in the series. The relationships in this novel are meticulously detailed, often heartbreaking, and incredibly compelling. Ferrante manages to use her characters to discuss the poverty, violence, and sexism of Naples and Italy in the 50s and 60s in a way that fits in seamlessly with the smaller human stories she tells. It's been a long time since a novel this long had kept me fixated from the first page to the last. I can't wait to get my hands on the final two books in the series!
