Spare by Prince Harry

This was a journey. I’m so glad I listened on audio. While a good majority of the book was — frankly — boring, I was gutted by Diana’s passing & the way Harry processed it. Same with his descriptions of the queen’s passing. A lot of his description of his relationship with Meghan was what we saw in their documentary, not too much that was terribly new (except saying I love you after they’d already moved in together?!). The British press is vile, & I believe there’s a lot of work to do within the monarchy. Harry still absolves the monarchy of its role in this, placing the blame fully on the press. Still, I can tell that Harry deeply loves his family & is deeply hurt. Even if your family does shitty things, you’ll still love them because they’re you’re family. Ultimately, I hope Harry has found the happiness & freedom that Diana would’ve wanted for him, & I wish him all of the best.
