My Name is Luka by Aria Grace

4.0

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a sweet story. Luka has been living with his abusive father since mother passed away 4 years ago. He is counting the days until he turns 18 and can leave. Brad is his downstairs neighbor, but isn’t often home. After a work accident he is forced to be home and hears a confrontation between Luka and his father. Brad invites Luka to stay with him after he is hurt. Brad is the first person to show Luka any compassion let alone “see” him since his mother passed. While Brad wants to keep Luka safe, Luka is sure that he will be sent away once he turns 18 and will no longer be wanted. When Luka’s dad meets Brad at Luka’s graduation he begins to cause problems and forces Luka home just to hurt him more. Brad saves him from further pain, but has to deal with the consequences of those actions too. They are both attracted to each other, but wait until Luka turns 18 to not cause any more problems in their lives.
