The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton

3.0

This book was fun. Like its predecessor, this is more silliness, but also, a lot dirtier, so heads up I guess.

I personally didn't mind the dirty parts, because it wasn't cringey or campy, and I did love the fact that the dynamic between the two main characters in this book were a lot different from the first one. You can tell going in that this wasn't a rehash of the first book, and the characters are distinct in their own ways, which I really appreciated.

Unfortunately, I'm not really sure if the author had improved writing-wise. I felt the same amount of flow and wording issues that I encountered with the first book, and again, whilst I could ignore it in favour of the fun factor, I was a little disappointed that there was no change in this department at all. Maybe it's good that at least it didn't become worse? Like it's fine though, but I just can't justify raising it to a 4 star, a 3.5 would be more accurate.

Still reading the next one because it is admittedly a very fun series, you don't really find a lot of books like this, so looking forward to it.
