Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

5.0

Dani loves her work and is dedicated to it. Not looking for a romantic relationship, she just wishes for the perfect friends with benefits situation. But when Zafir heroically rescues her from an elevator during a fire drill, rumours fly and everyone starts to ship them. Realizing this is giving Zaf attention to his charity, he asks Dani to play along. How long does playing last until it becomes real? This novel was fun, sexy, and an all-around good time. The story was captivating from the beginning and the pacing was good; not too fast that the reader zipped right through it, and not too slow that it bored the reader, it was a nice in between. The writing was so good and clever; between the witty banter that had the reader literally laughing out loud, to the more serious topics of commitment the writing was really well done. The fake dating trope was a lot of fun to read and really tested the characters. These characters were so well developed. The reader loved the little tidbits of information that they’d get about a character because it made them more relatable, more personable and not just a character in a book; they felt like real people. Watching the two main characters’ work on themselves and work out their relationship was so refreshing to see and it just gave the reader hope. The secondary characters were also so fleshed out and really gave the story a nice rounded feel. It was also really good to see Dani’s siblings make an appearance. The ending to this one was so sweet, it melted the reader’s heart. This was a delightful addition to the Brown sisters’ trilogy and the reader can’t wait to read about Eve.
