This was a very difficult book for me, mainly because it hit really close to home. In a lot of ways I could relate to Dazai, however his “issues” were a lot more intense than any of mine. The book tackled a lot of issues that are still prevalent in today’s society, making it a lasting classic. Dazai’s character was immersive and compelling, I was always questioning what would happen next or how he would further develop. I loved this book and would highly recommend it, as long as the reader is in a good enough head space to handle the topics in this book.
