Savages by Don Winslow
5.0
Well, one thing about Winslow's writing is: you're either going to love it or hate it. I loved it; very interested in reading Power of the Dog now.
I have to give it to the man, he knows how to cultivate a voice. This is so drenched in SoCal living, and I've never been to the continent, let alone the country. Writing like a clear cup of water, crisp.
I also need to figure out how to do spoilers because I have a lot of opinions re: the book ending and the movie ending.
Also, Winslow delivers one of the best lines written by a man, from a woman's perspective: "Men teach us how to treat them."
