Piercing the Darkness by Frank E. Peretti

4.0

I don't care for Peretti's earliest books very well. They seem to lack the good points of his later ones and turn the fight between spiritual forces into something that can only turn out well if the saints pray enough. They feel to me to much like magic--if you believe hard enough the fairy won't die. I believe however that God has power without "help" from us. From a few things I've read Peretti agree this is a fault with some of his early books.

Anyway, the story line was catchy, the writing good, and I did enjoy the book.
