beautifullifewithdani 's review for:
The Demon Tide
by Laurie Forest
3.75 but I'm rounding up.
**Spoilers**
I have conflicted feelings about this book. Parts of it I absolutely loved, the writing is beautiful and descriptive as always, but others fell very flat for me.
I wasn't invested in all the romantic sub plots, I fully understand the point of them, but not all translated well for me, and that took away from the ones I was really invested in.
I loved Trystans POV and his story/journey. While the multiple POV wasn't as jarring as book 3 , it still felt slightly excessive.
I found the main love triangle so uncomfortable and it's probably because of how drastic the back and forth has been. How many times is Elloren going to presume whomever she's currently bonded to is dead...? And immediately bond with the next. It just doesn't compute for me. Maybe I feel slightly betrayed, it's hard to say lol
While parts of this book weren't my favourite, it was still a fantastic read. I can't wait see where the next installment takes us.
