How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang
2.5
This was a lot darker than I expected. I wasn’t a fan of the way it was written in the 3rd person and alternated between POVs frequently. I didn’t feel much emotion from the story, and that could be because she’s typically a screenwriter.
The spice was strange, especially in the beginning. It felt like they were teenagers and not in their 30s. It then escalated quickly and out of nowhere with no explanation.
I did appreciate how she showed the MMC’s anxiety and the panic attacks, and her struggles of being part of an immigrant family. However, I feel it could’ve been better executed and it was disappointing, unfortunately.
