DCI Erika Foster Series Book #1

If you like mystery/thrillers this is worth the read. I know I only gave it a 3 star, but it is worth it. It had a fast pace and good flow. While for me it wasn't a shock or huge surprise on whodunit, there was a lot of suspects thrown in that were viable. There was also a lot of other stuff going on to throw things off.
There was the rich family trying to steer the investigation. There was the main character that had issues due to her past. I just couldn't get into the characters very much. The MC, Erika, just didn't like her. Some of how she acted was supposed to be because her past and still grieving. Yet, it didn't quite make sense for me. She kept randomly messing up or going off on people, and needed saving. Though she was supposed to be a strong, intelligent, capable detective.
She started out kind of the outcast where some didn't like her and others were just cautious of her. Yet suddenly, at one point, almost everyone supports, and respects her. I just don't get where and why the turnaround for everyone. I can see it with a couple of them at least.
The issues I had with the book really were minor though in the big scheme of the book. It is nitpicky, but it bothered me enough to be nitpicky, it may not bother many other people. While I had these nitpicky things that bothered me, I still did enjoy the read and it was hard to put down until the end.
