Reread for the first time since the 2010’s. It hasn’t aged well in some ways, but King’s characters always captivate. Holly and Jerome are especially sweet in the last ~1/3 of the book. 

This remains my favorite in the trilogy. It’s the most grounded and interesting, imo. 

However, there’s just no reason King needs to use so many slurs. A couple specific uses for emphasis of character traits (read: this is a nasty dude or etc.), fine, I can understand, but this was just not it. It was published in 2014 for Christ’s sake.
