Hoshimi is a man who is a soft golden retriever that loves shoujo manga and romance movies, and has terrible luck in dating. Drunk after a breakup, he signs up for a dating app and meets Himesaki. They talk all night and agree to meet up — and then they both thought the other was a woman.
From there, Hoshimi also learns that Himesaki is the mangaka of his favorite shoujo manga series. Himesaki becomes a little enamored by Hoshimi’s innocent love for his work and it blooms into a date… and the inevitable push for sex.
It doesn’t go that far, though. They actually spend a lot of time together and develop into something not quite defined at first. I really loved the acknowledgement that sex doesn’t require penetration. They both have reasons for not wanting to at first, and I loved the honest and care around these conversations.
I still don’t know why bisexuality can’t exist (and is it a cultural thing?) of seeing the world as only “gay” or “straight”. For the main conflict, I felt so bad for Hoshimi even if it was a misunderstanding! Ahh. He’s so sweet and deserves the world. The resolution was so cute!!!
The art in this was super cute! I liked both characters, I liked the acknowledgement of consent after a kiss that wasn’t received well, I liked their romance and the softness of it. I loved the ending and the cuteness overall!
