The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz

4.0

4.5, that I could't bring myself to round up to 5. Half-a-star off because a lot of the interplay between characters read like queer-baiting and Wren was notably insufferable, though I quite liked the psychopathic Rosa's shrewd take on the dysfunction of the main characters. The interruptions of the book did nothing for me but they were brief enough to not bother me. Ultimately, an unnuanced but greatly entertaining and original love letter to complicated women.
