Iris Scanlon is the personal assistant to the sunlight challenged, vampire population. She takes care of all those little things that need to be done during daytime hours. When she finds herself caught up in the middle of vampire politics, her first reaction is to run away screaming. The lure of money for the struggling, single guardian is too much to pass up. She and her sister Gigi are all the family each of them have left since their parents passed several years ago.
Cal is an investigator hired by the council, who happens to be a new client for Iris. She stumbles (literally) onto him passed out in his floor, and he offers her an obscene amount of money to let him hide out at her place. Of course things get a little sticky, but nothing that can't be resolved.
