The List by Melanie Jacobson

3.0

Genre: bucket list, mistaken identities, surfin' USA
Summary: Ashley is a busy pre-graduate student in Huntington Beach for the summer to earn money for school. While working, she intends to have a bit of fun. She has a list of 25 things she wants to have done before she gets married. She doesn't want to have any regrets. #17 on the list is a summer fling, and she intends that Matt Gibson is the perfect candidate for fulfilling that goal. Only, will he change her mind about the List?
Response: Obviously, this is geared to a very specific audience. The singles ward environment was pretty much spot on. It was a little uncomfortable the level of manipulation Ashley employs to get Matt interested. She is so set on getting through her list, she misses out on a really wonderful guy. It was interesting to see her background, with her family's history for marrying young and how she refused to be defined by that. I thought the ending was a little silly, but it was cute and easy to read.
